MSI PI Tiffany Wolf (assistant professor, Veterinary Population Medicine) has been named the U of M 2021 President’s Community-Engaged Scholar. She was recognized for her collaborative work with the Anishanaabe and Dakota tribes in Minnesota as she studies chronic wasting disease and other issues affecting the health of Minnesota wildlife.
MSI PI Richard James (professor, Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics) is a co-author on a paper that describes the path to developing a new form of ceramic with shape memory. The authors included researchers from the University of Minnesota and Kiel University in Germany. The paper appears in the journal Nature: Exploding and Weeping Ceramics.
Researchers at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB), Associate Professor Steven Nelson (Pediatrics, MIDB Imaging Core Director) and MSI PI Christine Conelea (assistant professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences; director, MIDB Neuromodulation Program) have received a Masonic Cross-Departmental Grant in Children’s Health Research.
MSI PI Jeannine Cavender-Bares (professor, Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior) is featured in an article in the prestigious journal Science about using new remote-sensing techniques to study ecosystems. Researchers are also beginning to use these techniques in efforts to save them.
