Using Remote Sensing to Study Biodiversity

Ecology and Environment

MSI PI Jeannine Cavender-Bares (professor, Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior) is featured in an article in the prestigious journal Science about using new remote-sensing techniques to study ecosystems. Researchers are also beginning to use these techniques in efforts to save them. The article appears in the November 18, 2021 issue of Science: Getting the Big Picture on Biodiversity.

Professor Cavender-Bares uses MSI in research that seeks to understand how variation at one biological scale interacts with environmental change to give rise to emergent properties at the next biological scale.
