Graduate student Julia Quindlen, who is a member of the MSI research group of Professor Victor Barocas (Biomedical Engineering - College of Science and Engineering), has been awarded a 2015-16 Interdisciplinary Doctoral Fellowship. Ms. Quindlen is a fourth-year PhD student. She will be completing her project, “Mechano-to-Neural Transduction of the Pacinian Corpuscle” under the advisement of Professor Barocas and Professor Martha Flanders (Neuroscience - Medical School) at the Institute for Engineering in Medicine.
Ms. Quindlen was a Grand Prize Winner at the 2014 MSI Research Exhibition for her poster “Multi-scale mechanical modeling of the Pacinian corpuscle.”
