The Office of the Vice President for Research has announced this year’s Innovation Impact Case Award. This award recognizes U of M research that has had significant impact outside of academia. The announcement was released by OVPR earlier this month.
Dr. Sarah Huebner, a researcher at the U of M Lion Center and a member of Lion Center Director Craig Packer’s research group, was one of the award co-winners. She was recognized for her project, “Snapshot Safari,” which uses camera traps and citizen science to track and understand wildlife populations in Africa.
MSI has supported Snapshot Safari and its predecessor, Snapshot Serengeti, for many years. Stories about both projects have appeared on the MSI website:
The OVPR website has articles about the 2023 Innovation Impact Case Award and a detailed article about Dr. Huebner’s research.
