MSI Principal Investigator Jason Hill (an associate professor in the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering) has recently been featured on both Minneapolis’s KARE-11 tv and the University’s Minnesota Daily newspaper. Professor Hill’s research investigates the impact of using fossil fuels. This work includes analyses of how human activities and the pollution they cause are not directly linked – for example, an electric car may have no emissions, but the plant generating the electricity could be extremely polluting. Professor Hill and his group use MSI resources to run air-quality computer models.
