Wilgenbusch to Serve as CASC Executive Committee Vice Chair

Dr. Jim Wilgenbusch, the Director of Research Computing at the University of Minnesota, will serve as the Vice Chair of the Executive Committee of the Coalition for Academic Scientific Computation (CASC) for 2021-22. CASC comprises more than 90 research computing-focused organizations from academic institutions, national labs, and research centers around the U.S. The mission of CASC is to advocate for advanced computing technology to accelerate scientific discovery for national competitiveness, global security, and economic success, and to educate a diverse and well-prepared workforce.

Dr. Wilgenbusch joined MSI in 2014 and has been the Director of Research Computing since 2018. Research Computing includes three organizations: the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute, the University of Minnesota Informatics Institute, and U-Spatial.
