Using Bison to Protect an Ecosystem

Ecology and Environment

A video narrated by MSI PI Forest Isbell (Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior; associate director, Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve (CCESR)) describes a project that has introduced bison into the CCESR to see whether their foraging behavior can benefit the oak savanna ecosystem. The video is from the Big Ten Network and can be found on the network’s YouTube page

Dr. Isbell is using MSI for a project to study how a new pack of wolves at the CCESR are affecting the populations and distributions of other wildlife on the reserve. A story about CCESR's citizen-science project Eyes on the Wild, for which MSI is providing support, appeared on the MSI website in February 2019: Eyes on the Wild.
