MSI Researcher Debmayla Ray Talks Computational Chemistry

Chemistry

Debmayla Ray, a computational chemist and PhD candidate in the group of MSI PI Laura Gagliardi (professor, Chemistry), is featured in Student Voices on YouTube. He talks about his research, computational chemistry at the U, and the importance mental health.

The Gagliardi group is involved in several projects that use quantum chemical methods to investigate chemical systems and materials containing transition metals and heavier atoms like lanthanides and actinides. Professor Gagliardi is the director of the Inorganic Catalyst Design Center, director of the Chemical Theory Center, and a principal investigator at the Nanoporous Materials Genome Center and Materials Research Science and Engineering Center.
