MSI PIs Named Regents Professors

Two MSI PIs have been named Regents Professors, the University’s highest level of faculty recognition.

  • Professor Gunda Georg (head, Department of Medicinal Chemistry; Director, Institute for Therapeutics Discovery and Development (ITDD)) has been named Regents Professor of Medicinal Chemistry. Professor Georg and researchers at the ITDD use MSI resources and user support for projects in the areas of medicinal chemistry, high-throughput screening, lead discovery, combinatorial chemistry, and chemical process development. The group is involved with drug discovery and development projects in several areas.
  • Professor Marc Jenkins (Microbiology and Immunology) has been named Regents Professor of Microbiology and Immunology. Professor Jenkins uses MSI resources to support studies of CD4+ T cells and their role in adaptive immune response.

An article about all the new Regents Professors can be found on the University’s News site: Three U of M Regents Professors Named.
