Four MSI PIs have been named to the 2023 class of inductees to the U of M’s Academies for Excellence. This honor recognizes outstanding faculty in scientific research, education scholarship, clinical practice, and team science.
The MSI PIs are:
Academy for Excellence in Health Research
- David Boulware (professor, Medicine; Institute for Engineering in Medicine)
- Professor Boulware uses MSI for a project that studies meningitis in resource-limited areas, with special interest in TB meningitis and cryptococcal meningitis in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Carol Lange (professor, Medicine)
- Professor Lange is using MSI resources to study and analyze gene expression measurements for progesterone receptor gene signatures in breast cancer cell lines.
Academy for Excellence in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
- Paul Iaizzo (professor, Surgery; Institute for Engineering in Medicine)
- Professor Iaizzo is using MSI resources for three projects: computational modeling of the cardiac cycle and ablation, cardiac imaging, and hibernation physiology.
Academy for Excellence in Team Science
- Amy Gross (associate professor, Pediatrics)
- Professor Gross uses MSI resources for research that seeks to identify abnormal neurocircuitry patterns in adolescents with severe obesity.
