Several MSI PIs have been named McKnight Land-Grant Professors for 2024-26. These awards recognize promising junior faculty members.
- Ryan Caverly (Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics)
- Professor Caverly’s group uses MSI for numerical simulations used in developing novel control and estimation methods for aerospace and robotic systems.
- Michael Coughlin (Physics and Astronomy)
- Professor Coughlin uses MSI to run algorithms that can search data from wide-field telescopes to find variable sources.
- Courtney Roberts (Chemistry)
- Professor Roberts uses MSI to support research into early and late transition metal catalysis.
- Heidi Roop (Soil, Water, and Climate)
- Professor Roop uses MSI for research undertaken by the University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership, including generating and providing climate project data to many stakeholder groups in Minnesota.
- Judy Yang (Civil, Environmental, and Geo-Engineering)
- Professor Yang use MSI to process imaging data as part of research into how flow affects sediment, transport, and coastal erosion.
