The University of Minnesota recently announced new Distinguished McKnight University Professors. Two MSI PIs are included in the 2021 class.
The Distinguished McKnight University Professorship program recognizes outstanding faculty members who have recently achieved full professor status. Recipients hold the title “Distinguished McKnight University Professor” for as long as they remain employed at the University of Minnesota.
The MSI PIs on the list are:
- Russell Holmes (Chemical Engineering and Materials Science)
- Professor Holmes uses MSI for computational modeling of a process to deposit metal-halide perovksite thin films in the manufacture of electronic devices such as solar cells and LEDs.
- Dylan Millet (Soil, Water, and Climate)
- Professor Millet uses MSI for several projects that aim to improve understanding of the chemical composition of the atmosphere, how it is affected by humans and by natural processes, and the implications for health, air pollution, and climate change.
