The College of Biological Science’s Petri Dish Series, a series of conversations with University of Minnesota experts on a wide variety of biology-related topics, includes several MSI PIs for the Spring 2018 series. The schedule can be found on the College of Biological Sciences Connect blog.
The February 7 event, “Our wired world: Monitoring and managing the world around us,” featured MSI PIs Nathan Springer (Plant and Microbial Biology) and Ce Yang (Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering). The panel for the March 7 program, “Your brain on science: The promise of new neurotechnologies,” will include MSI PI Daniel Schmidt (Genetics, Cell Biology and Development). And the April 11 event, “A tiny take on toxins: Engineering enzymes to clean up the environment,” includes MSI PIs Mikael Elias (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics) and Paige Novak (Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering).
Petri Dish events take place at the Camp Bar in downtown St. Paul. They are co-sponsored by the Bell Museum of Natural History and the Office of the Vice President for Research.
