MSI PI Renee Frontiera Receives DOE Award

Chemistry

MSI PI Renee Frontiera (Chemistry) has received an Early Career Research Program award from the Department of Energy’s Office of Science. This is a highly competitive award that is intended to provide support to exceptional researchers in the early years of their careers.

An article about the award and Professor Frontiera’s research appears on the chemistry department’s website: Professor Frontiera receives DOE Early Career Research Program Award.

Professor Frontiera uses MSI resources for computer modeling used to examine the role of nuclear motions in driving charge transfer and singlet fission reactions. These processes are fundamental to all photovoltaic devices, and by optimizing molecular structure the Frontiera group aims to increase efficiency of charge generation, transport, and collection.
