Assistant Professor Ran Blekhman (Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior; Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development) has been named a 2016 Sloan Research Fellow. These Fellowships are presented annually by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to early-career scientists and scholars.
Professor Blekhman uses MSI to support his research into the genomics of host-microbe interactions. MSI’s high-performance computing, software, and storage resources are necessary for the Blekhman group’s analyses of large genomic and metagenomic datasets. Some of this research was featured on the MSI website in September 2015.
A story about Professor Blekhman appears on the College of Biological Sciences website. A complete list of the 2016 Sloan Research Fellowships is on the Sloan Foundation website.
