MSI PI Pinar Karaca-Mandic Awarded Healthcare Research Grant

MSI PI Pinar Karaca-Mandic, an associate professor in the Carlson School of Management, has received a $1.6 million grant to lead a multidisciplinary team that will study how physicians make the decision to stop using treatment procedures when information comes out showing that they are unsafe or ineffective. The team is made up of researchers from the U of M School of Public Health, Mayo Clinic, Harvard Medical School, and Yale University, plus subject-matter experts in several fields. The grant comes from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
