MSI PI Lauren Linderman (assistant professor, Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering) has been awarded a CAREER grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). These grants are awarded to early-career faculty in order to build a foundation for a lifetime of leadership in integrating education and research. Professor Linderman will receive $500,000 over five years for her project, Multi-Objective Optimization of Sensor Placement for Reliable Montioring and Control of Structures.
The Linderman group uses MSI for a project to develop an advanced sensor system to estimate long-term and dynamic vertical displacements of a bridge structure without a reference or on-site surveying.
