MSI PI Efi Foufoula-Georgiou, a professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering and St. Anthony Falls Laboratory, studies river deltas as part of the National Science Foundation-funded Sustainable Deltas Project. This project seeks to understand how river deltas are changing and what can be done to protect them. Deltas are vital ecosystems that support both human communities and other species. In recognition of World Oceans Day on June 8, an article about the project and Professor Foufoula’s work was published on the NSF website.
Professor Foufoula-Georgiou uses MSI for computer modeling of a wide variety of environmental problems.
