MSI PI David Masopust Named as HHMI Faculty Scholar

Biology

Associate Professor David Masopust, an MSI PI in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, has been named one of the first group of Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Faculty Scholars. This new program, led by the HHMI and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, recognizes researchers who are early in their careers by providing funding resources they can use to following interesting and creative research. An article about this award and Professor Masopust’s research can be found on the Academic Health Center website.

Professor Masopust, who is also a member of the Center for Immunology and the Masonic Cancer Center, uses MSI resources to support his research into a new model of mice whose immune systems will more closely match those of adult humans.
