MSI PI David Blank has been named to be the Head of the Department of Chemistry. The appointment begins on September 1, 2017. Professor Blank will take over the position from Professor William Tolman, also an MSI PI, who has served as the department head for the past eight years.
Professor Blank uses MSI for projects involving the analysis of two photon-absorption in caged molecules and energy transfer in organic materials.
