MSI Fellow Donald Truhlar Awarded Plyler Prize

Chemistry

MSI Fellow and Regents Professor Donald Truhlar (Chemistry) has been awarded the 2016 Earl K. Plyler Prize for Molecular Spectroscopy and Dynamics. This prestigious award is presented by the American Physical Society and is made in recognition of Professor Truhlar’s outstanding work and accomplishments in dynamics. Professor Truhlar and his research group use MSI’s supercomputers for a large number of projects in computational chemistry. They have developed their own dynamics codes and also use commercial electronic structure and molecular modeling packages, sometimes modified for their work. See this story on the Department of Chemistry website.

Recently, Professor Truhlar and his research group reached their 100,000th citation, according to Google Scholar Citations. See this story on the Department of Chemistry website.
