A recent study by NASA and the National Science Foundation concluded that lakes are warming faster than the oceans, and that Lake Superior is one of the fastest-warming lakes on the planet. Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) interviewed MSI PI Jay Austin to explain why this is. Professor Austin is at the Large Lakes Observatory at the University of Minnesota Duluth, and uses MSI for his research into the Great Lakes and surrounding water systems.
The MPR story can be found on their website.
