MSI PIs Nicholas Phelps and Jeff Forester, both assistant professors in the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology, have co-authored an article on the news outlet MinnPost.com that describes ways to fight aquatic invasive species. The article describes the public and government partnerships and efforts that are required to successfully develop methods of protecting Minnesota’s waterways: Our mindset is the biggest obstacle to achieving success against aquatic invasive species.
Professor Phelps uses MSI resources to support research into the virome of native and invasive fish populations in the Great Lakes region. Professor Forester uses MSI for computational modeling of agro-ecological systems.
