Does Occupational Licensing Yield Benefits?

MSI PI Morris Kleiner, a professor in the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, testified at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in early February concerning occupational licensing. Professor Kleiner studies the effects of such licensure, including whether these licenses improve safety or performance. A blog post about the hearing appeared on The Wall Street Journal’s website.

Professor Kleiner uses MSI’s supercomputers to run the model used for this research.
