The Great Lakes Consortium for Petascale Computation (GLCPC) has issued a Call for Proposals for allocations on the Blue Waters system. The Call for Proposals can be found on the GLCPC website.
Proposals should focus on the scale and unique capabilities of the Blue Waters system. Projects that could be completed on one of the other NSF-sponsored systems as part of the XSEDE program are not encouraged for Blue Waters allocations.
The GLCPC is seeking innovation proposals that fall into four categories:
• Scaling studies
• Multi-GLCPC-institutional projects addressing focused scientific projects
• Proposals for applications well-suited to the Blue Waters system architecture
• Proposals from non-traditional and underserved communities
The GLCPC anticipates 3-8 projects/allocations annually.
The deadline for allocation proposals is midnight EST November 16, 2015. The review process is expected to be complete by mid-February 2016, and allocations will be available for use beginning April 1, 2016. Allocations will expire after one year.
Complete application instructions, including eligibility, reporting requirements, and proposal content, can be found at the Call for Proposals.
Information about Blue Waters can be found on the National Center for Supercomputing Applications website.
