Project Title:
Mechanism of Vitamin A Signaling
The Wei group focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying vitamin A signaling, including receptors and binding proteins of retinoic acid, as well as other coregulatory molecules such as RIP140. The goal is to understand how retinoic acid elicits both genomic and non-genomic activities, via the canonical and non-canonical pathways, in various biological contexts including diseases. Biochemical and biophysical methods, cell biology techniques, genetic animal models, and various genome engineering techniques are used in these projects.
