Project Title:
Hydrodynamics of Gamete Broadcasting by Mussels

These researchers are studying the reproductive ecology of zebra mussels. Their experiments show distinct differences in the fluid dynamic properties of gamete release for different mussels. They are using MSI to run a CFD model parameterized with experimental data to estimate the potential consequences of these behaviors on gamete dispersal and fertilization success. This work is run using COMSOL.
