Zinc is an essential mineral in the diet of gestational sows. The goal of this project is to improve the survival of newborn pigs by providing zinc to late-gestating sows. The researchers have used large datasets to study complex animal response to diets that improve health. This includes data from microbiome, transcriptomics, and more recently virulence factors. The research requires significant storage space.
