Project Title:
Genome Organization and Function in Development and Disease
Research in this lab is focused in understanding the mechanisms that control the establishment of genome organization and function during development, as well as their alterations in human diseases. The researchers are exploiting differentiation protocols of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) derived from patients to model disease progression and genomic technologies to characterize nuclear organization. They are also constructing integrative models of gene regulation during early embryogenesis of distinct species to improve stage-matching of donor cells and host embryos, and enable better generation of human transplantable organs for regenerative medicine.
