Project Title:
Functional Morphology
This research is concerned with understanding the evolution of locomotion and comparative locomotion through the implementation of functional morphological studies of internal and external osteological material (both extant and fossil) and kinematics. Research methodologies include machine learning-based image segmentation, Python-based high throughput workflows for whole bone trabecular analyses, and machine learning-based kinematics analysis. The research goal is to better understand form-function relationships in humans and our closest living relatives and how that has changed over the course of evolutionary history.
