Project Title:
How Similar Enzymes Catalyze Different Reactions

Enzymes with similar structures can catalyze different chemical reactions. These enzymes differ by many amino acids, typically about 30% or 100 amino acids. Some of these amino acids contribute to the differences in chemical reactions, but others do not. These researchers are experimentally identifying which amino acids are important and using MSI resources to model these reactions. The modeling provides hypotheses for the role of different amino acids.
