Project Title:
Aging in the Nematode Caenorhabditis elegans
Work in the Gill Lab is centered on using genetic and chemical genetic analysis to identify new pathways and mechanisms involved in regulating organismal lifespan. The researchers use standard genetic techniques including classical genetics, forward genetic screens, reverse genetics (RNA interference), qPCR, and RNA sequencing as well as examining life history traits. They are also developing compound screening approaches that involve an in silico computational screening approach as well as high throughput assays in nematodes.
