Project Title:
Network and Innovation Science

This research examines the consequences of social networks for organizations. It looks specifically at how patterns of collaboration and communication among employees facilitate and constrain organizations' use of knowledge and other resources, and also how those networks relate to more broadly to organizational outcomes, like innovation. The group is also developing more general methods and algorithms for analyzing and characterizing networks. The research relies on large archival and administrative datasets that allow the researcher to gain insight into activities and relationships among people both inside and outside of organizations.
