I have spent a majority of my career developing methods and tools to understand and explain the I/O performance of data storage systems on everything from PCs to some of the largest supercomputers on this particular planet. This includes but not limited to the hardware, software, and firmware1 of data storage devices, storage networks, computing systems, system software, and application behaviours.
Proficient in several languages in no particular order: C, Fortran, Pascal, Python, sh, csh, IBM360/370 Assembler2, English, and Dog.
I stay current with developments in computer systems hardware and software architectures, processor architectures, IoT, SBCs, sensor networks, energy/power systems, and electric vehicles.
I have also accumulated a great deal of trivia over the past 47 years of working in technology - in fact I'm full of it - people tell me that all the time.
