This work focuses on the prevention, detection, response, and ecology of diseases that emerge across humans, wildlife, and livestock in a changing environment. The group has studies in the U.S., Africa, Asia, and South America looking at disease dynamics and disease management in systems as diverse as anthrax outbreaks in hippos, emerging tick-borne disease in the Twin Cities, community resilience to Ebola in Uganda, and disease transmission risk between native and introduced mustelids in Chile.
