Project Title:
Vertebrate Sex Determination
The Zarkower lab studies the evolution of vertebrate sex chromosomes using a variety of approaches including RAD-seq, which involves low coverage genome sequencing of many individuals and intensive data analysis. They also study cell fate regulation using a variety of DNA sequence based methods including RNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ChIP-exo, ATAC-seq and CAGE-seq. All of these involve massive amounts of Illumina sequencing data and require intensive computation.
