Dr. Xue Feng

This group is interested in understanding the stochastic dynamics of ecohydrological systems and their sensitivities to environmental fluctuations, expecially those arising from precipitation. Specifically, their efforts include: 

• Integrating the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum to better predict plant responses to drought
• Extrapolating peatland carbon emissions from water table fluctuations
• Resolving ecosystem water budgets in seasonally dry regions
• Optimizing stomatal behavior against a range of environmental conditions
