About the LMVL

Note: Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, access to the LMVL is limited to classes; access must be requested by the faculty member teaching the class. Please refer to MSI communications and the most recent MSI Operations During COVID-19 statement for updates. We thank you for your understanding.

The LMVL is located in room 125 in Walter Library. It is set up for high definition presentations and interactive graphical analyses of very large or complex systems and data through the use of high performance networking, storage, and computational resources. The LMVL systems are designed to be used in the following modes:

  1. Data Exploration: Interactive exploration of very large and complex volumes of data using HPC resources together with very high-end graphical analyses.
  2. Beta-testing: Development and demonstration of novel software, hardware, and networking applications.
  3. Presentation: Pre-generated high resolution slides and movies to be viewed by groups of up to 40 people.
