Project Title:
Storage and Analysis of Raw Video Data of High-Resolution Rodent Behavior
The University's Pain Consortium (~20 PIs) recently acquired a Black Box One Rodent Behavior Monitoring System with support from the RIO's Grant in Aid of Research award. This system uses high-speed, high-resolution video to track the motion and surface contact of rodent limbs and paws. Depending on length of recording time, raw data files can amount to multiple terabytes and require tens of hours of local processing time on high performance processors. Six groups actively use the system. The large file sizes necessitate the use of MSI's high-performance storage capabilities.
