The focus of this lab is on developing predictive models using quantitative multiparametric MRI to detect prostate cancer and grade. In their search for the best modeling approaches, they have been exploring machine-learning approaches including support vector machines and convolutional neural networks. The compute resources at MSI are of great benefit for training and applying these models, because the processes are highly parallelizable.
