Quantitative Fisheries Conservation Science

This research focuses on stock assessment, population dynamics of fishes, and statistical methods, with the goal of analyzing and solving relevant, real world problems. Research is done in both marine and freshwater systems. The group simultaneously communicates with and works on solutions with key stakeholders, especially through public outreach.

Selected current projects:

  • Using boosted regression trees to predict aquatic invasive species within the Upper Mississippi River Basin.
  • Using boosted regression trees to predict native aquatic species in Minnesota under future climate predictions.
