Project Title:
Electrical Instrumentation

These researchers are using MSI computing resource for two distinct projects:

  • 3D printed objects can use electrically conductive filaments, yet predicting the resistance of these objects from one point to another is challenging. The researchers are developing mathematical models of electrical networks in 3D printed objects and using computing resources to solve for the macroscopic resistance. These models have many junctions and resistors and need high performance computing to model and solve.
  • The researchers are modeling the noise performance of image processing algorithms for time-of-flight based depth sensing and single-photon imagingThese simulations are computationally intensive and so benefit from multiple parallel jobs. This project also leverages the MATLAB tools available at MSI.
