Modern computing platforms are fundamentally energy-limited. This research focuses on how to improve the energy efficiency of computing, which translates into how to compute faster without increasing the power consumption or how to reduce the power consumption without degrading the operating speed. The team’s efforts in confronting the energy crisis of computing spans two major themes:

• Pushing traditional (CMOS-based) computing to its limits
• Computing with post-CMOS devices/paradigms
