Project Title:
Grape Breeding
The subject of this research is fruit genetics and genomics for cultivar development, with some researchers continuing previous studies of roses and grapevine genomics. The project develops genetic maps utilizing software such as GenomeStudio (for SNP calls), JoinMap, MapQTL, and FlexQTL. The researchers use advanced QTL mapping software such as FlexQTL, MapQTL, and R for genetic mapping of important traits. In addition to QTL mapping, the project utilizes genomic resources for the identification and investigation of candidate genes, genetic sequences, and analysis. They are assembling one genome for grape in addition to some working doing bulk segregant analysis in rose.
