Professor Robert Alvarez Quinto

This group's current research involves the genetic characterization of new and emerging viral diseases in agricultural crops. One of the goals of this project is to investigate the genetic diversity of these viral pathogens to develop robust viral diagnostics tools that can be used towards disease management. Another goal is to understand the role of these new or emerging viruses in pathogenicity, in single and mixed infections.
