Endangered Lions – A Conversation with Craig Packer

Ecology and Environment

MSI PI Craig Packer, who is a world-renowned expert on lions, was interviewed recently by National Geographic’s Cat Watch blog. Professor Packer is a faculty member of the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior, and is the director of the University of Minnesota Lion Center in the College of Biological Sciences. The interview can be read on the National Geographic website.

Professor Packer uses MSI resources to store over a million sets of photographs taken by camera traps in the Serengeti. These images were used for a project called Snapshot Serengeti, a citizen-science project to classify wildlife.
