Project Title:
MRI for Musculoskeletal Applications

MRI in musculoskeletal (MSK) diseases not only allows for visualization of pathological abnormalities, but also more complex quantitiative tissue characterization. This research focuses on MRI technology development at UHF (7T and 10.5T) and at 3T for preservation of articual cartilage, and prevention of osteoarthritis in a wide spectrum of clinical diseases, including developmental diseases of the skeleton and sports-related or chronic injuries of the joint. Accelerated data acquisiton, data post-processing including physics-guided deep learning, and denoising are part of a comprehensive strategy of augmented clinical translational MSK research.
